Detailed within this page is a guide to the available characters in the NES classic, the Legend of Zelda.

It should be noted that while various Zelda games have a plethora of noteworthy characters to be detailed, the Legend of Zelda characters list is relatively short.

 Link

Here we have Link, a strapping young lad who’s out to reassemble the pieces of the Triforce of Wisdom and save Hyrule and the beautiful Princess Zelda from the evil Ganon.

Princess Zelda

Next up is Princess Zelda, heir to the throne of Hyrule. She broke her piece of the Triforce (the Triforce of Wisdom) into eight pieces for Link to find, reassemble and save her and Hyrule from Ganon. Only the true hero, Link, can save her from this evil.
 

Ganon

Ganon, he’s evil, he’s pig-like; what more could you ask for in an evil villain? He’s kidnapped Princess Zelda and searching for the Triforce of Wisdom hidden within her. It’s up to Link to find the Triforce of Wisdom and stop him from taking over Hyrule.
 

Old Man

The old man appears in various places throughout the land, no one really knows where he came from. But, he’s there to give Link tips and help him in his quest to save Princess Zelda and Hyrule. He gives Link the sword in the beginning of the game.
