Segment X

That’s right, the first Resident Evil game for the Wii has been announced by Capcom, Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles!  It is said to be a first-person shooter.  A few of the characters will include Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine from the very beginnings of Resident Evil!  IGN is reported that you’ll have the entire RE story from RE0 all the way to collapse of the Umbrella Corporation at the start of RE4.  A trailer will be included along with the re-release of RE4 for the Wii. 

(On the subject of the re-release of RE4) If you ask me, RE4 has had enough releases.  However, if you missed out on the features that PS2 owners got then you Wii owners can expect to get them this time.  It is said that the Wii-mote will have uses such as for close ranged attacks like Leon’s knife.  It’s set release date is 5/31.  “While it hasn’t officially been announced outside of Japan yet, its appearance in retailer databases late last week suggests that Wii players everywhere will get to experience this Capcom classic through a new control scheme.” (quoting IGN’s staff)  As for Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles, with the game reportedly being only 25% complete, no release date has been set.

Segment VIII

Sega has announced that the sequal to their 1996 Sega Saturn classic is getting a sequal.  This game is suppsoedly titled Nights: Journey of Dreams   Sega fans will rejoice as they once again take control of Nights and attempt to save Nightopia from the evil Nightmaren demons.  Night will have a number of special skills in addidtion to his signature flying techniques. 

Nights: JoD producer and Sonic Team veteran Takashi Iizuka said to the Japanese press, “In 1996, under the concept of ‘a refreshing feeling of flight,’ we created Nights, a character of the world of dreams who dances through the skies. Eleven years later, the long silence broken, Nights will soar through a new dream world. A new stage, a new story, and a new plaftorm, the Wii. Please look forward to the new adventure of Nights and friends.”

 There is currently no release date set, but we’ll give you the most up-to-date news as we hear more on this.

Segment VII

This is a just a bit of fun.

A Zelda fan has remade the Eagle dungeon from Zelda 1 using the Ocarina of Time engine.  It’s nothing truly special but it’s something that I though Zelda fans would enjoy.
